Among the things I learned yesterday is that the 39 year old Trader Vic’s in Atlanta was the last one that Victor “Trader Vic” Bergeron was involved in designing and decorating. He wanted it to epitomize the Trader Vic’s ideal and, other than the carpets, it has not been changed since it opened. It’s one of the longest continuously running restaurants in Atlanta in one of the last hotels that Conrad Hilton was part of developing. At its peak, the chain had 22 restaurants that were almost entirely in the USA. Now, it has 19 and only 3 of them are in the USA. We really have a little jewel of a place here.
